you and your girlfriend ran down the street to your house, rain pouring down on both of you as you laughed and held books over your heads in attempt to keep dry. school had just ended and jinx decided to come home with you today. your parents never really cared if you invited people over, and they seemed to be quite fond of jinx, so it was pretty ordinary for her to tag along with you on your way home.

you both stumble up the front steps, throwing your bags on the porch, still laughing and gasping for breath. you take off your soaking wet sweatshirts, realizing the books over your heads hadn’t done a thing. just then, an idea pops into your head.

“c’mon-“

you grab her wrist and drag her back out into the pouring rain, smiling as she yelps in surprise.

“what’re you doing-?!”

she splutters as you run down the driveway and into the street, pulling her close behind.

“we’re already soaked, who cares?”

you respond, giggling as you hold her hands and twirl her around, the feeling of the cold rain pelting against your skin becoming exhilarating. she laughs along with you as she holds onto you and spins around, the trees and houses behind you becoming a blur.
