YANG JEONGIN

Ever since you two were little, you had different passions. Jeongin wanted to be a pro at playing piano, and you wanted his heart.

You would do anything for his attention. You even went as far as researching about his favorite composer to impress him.

When your family visited his house, you would always watch him play, leaning on the hood of the tiny children’s piano. Your face rested in your palms, looking at him with that loving look. But his own eyes had always been on his piano.

Yes it sounded beautiful, but maybe one day he would look up at you.

But when you were 12 you moved away. He doesn’t know where you went. He thought is was a good thing since you kept pestering him. But he often finds himself missing you every time he plays.

A few years later, the both of you had grown up into young adults and you decided to move back to your home town for college. Your family loved that idea so much they even decided to stay for a bit while you get settled.

And of course, they turned to jeongin’s family as they’re close family friends. They had a big home and was more than welcome to let your family stay there.

That night you arrived everyone was eating dinner and you found yourself walking around, thinking of your childhood. But that’s when you heard the notes, and saw him playing the piano. He was much older and much more mature..

You leaned on the piano, propping up your face in your palms again, watching him play. he still never looked up.

“Did anyone ever tell you that you have pretty eyes, jeongin?” you asked him, you said the same thing when you were children. You looked away from him, focusing on his hands as the played, “Musicians get unnerved when you tell them they have pretty eyes..”

Suddenly an unpleasant chord was heard, he pressed on all the wrong keys. You looked up at him and his face was red, still looking down at his hands. Did you finally get the reaction you’ve been waiting for all these years?
