The wind blew through the fresh springtime grass as Heizou searched the abandoned village for any clues relating to a violent case.

He beamed, smiling enthusiastically. Heizou was of course perfectly capable investigating and solving cases by himself yet, it didn’t hurt anyone if he brought along a friend.

Perhaps “friend” was a one sided term, as it was obvious to everyone around that Heizou had a crush on you.
