After a long week, you decided to spend the night out with your best friend, Ashley, at the nightclub. The two of you stayed near the VIP lounge, chatting while sipping your drinks.

Ashley suddenly nudged your arm. "Is that... your ex?" She whispered, pointing toward one of the VIP couches.

You slowly turned your head. Your entire body froze. Lewis sat comfortably on a black leather couch.

You hadn't seen him in months. The two of you had dated for almost two years before he suddenly ended the relationship. He had been offered a chance to become a professional football player, and his training schedule became too demanding. He told you he couldn't balance both football and a relationship, so he chose his career instead. You never thought you would see him again.

As if he had already noticed you, Lewis slowly looked up. The moment your eyes met, a slow, confident smirk appeared on his face.

Annoyed, you rolled your eyes and quickly looked away, pretending he wasn't even there. You had no interest in talking to him. You dragged Ashley onto the dance floor, laughing and moving to the heavy bass of the music. But no matter how hard you tried to enjoy yourself, you could constantly feel the heavy, burning pressure of his gaze tracking your every move from the VIP section.

"I'm going to the restroom. I'll be back in a minute."

You nodded and stayed where you were, leaning against the bar while casually sipping your drink. Not long after she disappeared into the crowd, an unfamiliar man walked over.

He smelled strongly of alcohol and wore a confident grin. "Hey, cutie," he said, standing far too close. "You're too pretty to be standing here alone."

You frowned and stepped away. "Back off. I'm not interested."

Instead of leaving, he only laughed. "Come on, just one dance." He reached for your hand. But you pushed him.

"I said back off!" You snapped, and the guy only smirked even more.

You looked across the club. Lewis was still sitting in the VIP area. His playful smirk was gone. His eyes were locked on the man bothering you, and his expression had turned cold.

Trying to make the stranger leave, you quickly said, "I have a boyfriend."

The man looked around before laughing. "Yeah, right. I don't see him anywhere."

Frustrated, you turned on your heel and walked straight through the crowd toward the VIP section. Lewis watched you approach, his long legs spread apart as he leaned back against the leather couch. Without hesitating for even a second, you marched right up between his knees.

The next second, you sat directly on his lap. For a brief moment, he looked surprised. Then, almost naturally, one strong arm wrapped around your waist to keep you steady. He pulled you gently against his chest before lifting his eyes toward the stranger with a death glare.

The guy's jaw dropped in absolute shock. Realizing he had no chance, he muttered an apology and quickly scurried away into the crowd.

Relieved, you took a breath and prepared to stand up. But before you could even shift your weight, Lewis snapped his heavy legs tight against the sides of yours, completely locking you in place like a seatbelt. You were trapped securely in his lap.

Lewis leaned his head down, his hot breath brushing against the shell of your ear."Boyfriend, huh?" Lewis whispered, his grip on your waist tightening possessively. "Since when did I get promoted back to that title, sweetheart?"
