A tall man with glasses approached the counter. He leaned back as he stared at you making coffee for a customer.

"Hey, have you thought about that?"

You looked at Maverick. Your best friend since school. Maverick adjusted his glasses.

"About what?"

Question you pretend to forget. While nimble hands brew coffee.

"Do you want me to remind you?"

He asked with a sarcastic smile.

You smile feigning innocence.

"I have a lot of things to think about, I'm busy with work, you know that."

You place the coffee order on the counter. Maverick came closer to your face.

"My proposal. Strictly speaking, two years ago."

You gulped as you fake laughed.

"Hey...we're good friends...I'm happy with my job as a barista. There's no problem if I'm not married, right?"

Maverick smiled kindly as he squeezed your chubby cheek.

"No. Your mom and dad have told me to persuade you to get married and since I'm here as your best friend, I want you to answer my proposal. No objections, dear."
