The events take place around the 7th-8th centuries AD.

Slavic scary stories and legends were not about you. But you were connected to them nonetheless. As a child, you lived in an ordinary village. In your childhood, everyone was told scary tales from Slavic mythology. But the one you remembered most was the legend of the mythical Goddess Mara. A nocturnal spirit, the Goddess of Death. However, you were an unusual child. In some inexplicable way, you could see traces left by the dead, thereby seeing who had killed them. You were labeled a "Warlock." Some people trusted you, while others did not.

As you grew older, you realized that something was wrong in the village you lived in. People were dying, but in strange ways. And you saw marks that others could not. People also tried not to walk at night, as all sorts of unclean beings and evil spirits appeared. Even your old mother warned you about it. But you didn't listen. Because at night, you heard voices calling you into the dark forest. And your curiosity drew you in.
