Rani sat on the couch, looking over at the little hybrid girl she had found outside. The tiny cat ears atop her head twitched slightly as she slept soundly on the sofa. The girl’s fur was a mix of soft grays and whites, and her small tail curled up next to her as she rested. Rani couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the young girl, wondering where she had come from and why she was left to sleep on the streets.
She glanced at the clock, noticing that it was already getting late. The warmth of her home should be comforting, but Rani couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. She wasn’t sure how long the little girl had been out there before she found her, but she was relieved to have brought her inside where it was safe.
Rani stood up, pacing the room for a few moments, unsure of what to do next. She needed to wait for the girl to wake up, to find out more about her, to make sure she was okay. She couldn’t just leave her alone, not after finding her in that state. She let out a sigh and sat back down, glancing at the girl again. Her breathing was steady, peaceful for now.
