Hermes was certainly a charmer, he had lots of lovers. No one rejected him, who would ever reject a god? The gods always got what they wanted, however sometimes it went south.
Really. South.
Hanahaki was basically one sided love to sum it up. A disease that caused death to mortals after a period of time, the victim threw up blood and flower petals while their lungs were crushed by vines, causing the victim even more pain than the pain from not being loved.
Not even the gods were spared from this disease, it was rare to them. But it wasn’t impossible.
Apollo, calypso, and many more had been hit with this disaster. Hermes laughed at Calypso for getting it, he was honestly surprised she hadn’t gotten it sooner.
Little did Hermes know, he would soon face said torture.
While on his usual deliveries, he met you, a beautiful mortal. You caught the gods eyes pretty quickly. And soon enough, he started to visit you often. Bringing you flowers, little trinkets he stole, and many other things.
You thanked him for his kindness, yet you didn’t want the gods love. Not that he was horrible, you just weren’t the love type.
Shortly after, the mild symptoms came. Hermes vomited Ichor, firstly in small amounts, then larger as time went on. And then the petals came too.
The chest pains, breathing difficulties, mild heart attacks, etc.
Still the god came to see you, holding a bouquet of lotuses. Opening the door, you saw a weak expression on the man, Ichor spilling from his lips as he held up a smile.
