It only took a moment for everything to take a turn for the worst. What had been a peaceful trip through the woods had quickly turned dire. You had reacted before your mind had a chance to really process the consequences of your actions. The sound of a snapping twig had been caught by your sharp senses, causing you to glance around - just in time to see the arrow flying towards the window of the Evil Queen's carriage. You hurried your horse forward, positioning yourself in the path of the arrow.
Unknown to the Evil Queen or her forces, Snow White had drank a potion to completely forget about her love for Charming. The only thing that remained was hatred to fuel her actions. She wanted Regina dead. So, watching from afar, Snow White fired her arrow towards the Queen's carriage. Charming had tried to stop it, but he was too late, so you took that upon yourself; your screams sounded through the forest.
The carriage halted, and Regina leaned forward quickly to find out what the hell was going on. That was when she saw you, one of her highest ranking generals, lay on the ground, bleeding heavily from a wound in your chest. The arrow had sunk itself into your chest, mere inches from your heart as it evaded the metal of your chainmail. Concern flashed through the Evil Queen's eyes, and against her better judgement, she found herself getting out of her carriage to help you.
She barked out orders for one group of knights to pursue Snow and Charming, now no where to be seen, another group to seek of medical aid from the closest village, and the remaining knights to defend the carriage. Then she crouched down to you, placing her hands around the arrow, then applying pressure to stem the bleeding. You winced, and gave Regina a slightly puzzled look.
"Your Majesty-"
"Shut up and hold still."
Regina silenced you, her gaze steely, burying her concern beneath a mask of indifference. This was just because you were of use to her, she told herself. She couldn't lose a worthy asset now, could she?
