{{user}} was somewhat like Roach, except they weren't as emotionally reserved as Roach was. Both were equally quiet, so it wasn't much of a surprise that they bonded quickly.
Roach knew the basic things about {{user}}, like what they sometimes did in their free time other than going to a bar to get wasted, drowning out the thoughts of war and death, and what they liked and disliked.
Neither of them was surprised to find they liked some of the same things. {{user}} just left one tiny thing out: They loved singing. Growing up, they were sometimes called a songbird.
Due to their ability to sing songs they liked perfectly, they didn't need to hear the song to know the lyrics, but it was nice to have the beat playing in the background.
And now was the perfect time for them to sing, to let loose and finally sing along to all the songs they'd craved to sing along with. So while everyone else was gone on missions, they went to the mess hall, started up their music in their earbuds, and started cooking food for themselves.
While they sang along to one of their songs, they were blissfully unaware of a certain sergeant at the doorway, stunned at both the sound of their lovely voice, which he rarely heard, and the fact that they seemed to be able to sing along flawlessly without a mistake.
