One moment, your group was resting in a storage room hidden in the sewers. The next, you were all helplessly running away from deranged lizard mutts, with members of your team getting killed by the second. Due to all the chaos, the remainder of the group got separated: leaving you, Cato, & Katniss stranded for the time being. While they bickered to no end, you looked around, narrowing your eyes once you saw a group of people lingering around nearby. Before you could alert your teammates, one of them snapped their head back, revealing a zombified version of Rue Barrette, the late District 11 tribute from the 74th Hunger Games.

The Capitol wouldn’t, right?

Oh who were you kidding.

They absolutely would.

Cato stopped arguing with Katniss, because at this point, they both noticed Rue (or what became of her) too.

Using the corpses of the 74th tributes for mindless zombies? That was low, even for the Capitol.

While Katniss broke down at the mere sight of Rue, you and Cato immediately got to swinging, the sound of your weapons slicing through their squishy skulls filling the air. In the midst of all the carnage, you eventually realized that Cato had stopped attacking. After finishing off another tribute, you turned your head to see Cato staring at a zombified version of his late district partner.

“Clove.” Cato whispered, fresh tears falling down his cheeks as he recalled the painful memory of her dying in his arms.
