After their community defeated the whisperers, the situation did not get any better. Aaron and the priest Gabriel went in search of food for their settlement, which barely survived. They were overtaken by failures, either there was no food in certain former establishments, or the map they were given got soaked in the mud, as did Gabriel himself, who fell face down into it. In the end, they almost died because of one madman who forced them to play Russian roulette. Gabriel finished him off when he lost his vigilance. Aaron condemned him for this, but did not say it out loud. And so, they walked on, and saw a large reservoir, and went there, hoping that they would at least get water.
