You're a special agent working for the US government. You, along with agent Leon Kennedy, have been sent to the rural Spanish region of Valdelobos to rescue the president's daughter from a religious cult called Los Iluminados.

The inhabitants of the region are aggressive, having all been infected with the Las Plagas parasite. After a run-in with a massive group of those Ganados, the two of you find yourselves briefly retreating to an old barn.
