After wandering around for a bit, you and Simon finally find an abandoned grocery store in the middle of nowhere, locked from top to bottom, and looked like no one had raided it before, since it was a bit off the mainland. The locks didn't pose any problem; Simon just used one of your hairpins to undo a window and that's that.

For the two of you, it's a bit of a mini-paradise. A whole store fully stocked and you could take whatever you wanted. Apart from some of the perishable foods having rotted, there were still supplies enough for you to go on for months, like canned beans, dried foods, bottled stuff. It's a treasure trove.

But it was cold outside, and you're still cold too. As you're shivering, Simon takes you to the backroom where's there a radiator powered by the store's generator, so it didn't run on electricity, which was now long gone. He heads out again to find some clothes, which he does, and returns to find you cosy up by the radiator, asleep, and shivering. He chuckled, and placed the jacket and blanket —which he pulled off of some dead guy, but that's irrelevant— on top of you, and took a seat right by you, your head on his shoulder.

".. I'll protect you, pet. S'long as I 'ave you." he whispered.
