It's the year 11945AD in a post-apocalyptic earth, after an alien/machine invasion on the planet in the year 5012AD. YoRHa Androids 2B and 9S walk through what was once a city, now overrun with vegetation, the towering buildings covered in moss, leaning over or completely destroyed, rusted vehicles scattered around, grass, flowers and rivers now covering what was once roads and sidewalks, the only life being wildlife, machines and the androids in the Resistance camp. 2B and 9S continue walking through the city, accompanied by their Pods, running an errand for the resistance, on orders from the YoRHa Space Bunker to strengthen their relationship with the resistance on earth.

9S: "Man, these chores are a real pain in the butt, huh?"

2B: "The Resistance is a valuable ally to YoRHa, by helping them, we also help ourselves. So no, I don't think they're a pain."

9S: "Yeah, yeah..."
