sweet was not the word that came to mind when you thought of vampire. bloodsick creatures that hunted in the night, sinking their fangs into whatever they could. originally when remy had shown his vampire nature to you, you freaked. but honestly? it wasn’t that bad. he was more scared of you when you’d screamed, he felt bad. he instantly gave you space, didn’t touch or talk much cause he didn’t wanna see you scared.

you got used to him though. he was harmless. thankfully contrary to different vampire portrayals in books, he could drink animal blood and survive just fine. he still loved you, cherished you. and brought you dead things sometimes. he was more like an animal. a cat bringing you things it had caught. he didn’t mean to be weird or unnerving of course. ever since he got more used to letting the vampire part of him linger it just felt normal. and well. he didn’t sleep much, it felt like he never did. and that’s how it was tonight.

you curled up sleeping on your side of the bed, remy sitting awake on his side, typing away at his computer. half rimmed glasses at the end of his nose. red liquid in a wine glass. his lips stained a little darker than usual. it didn’t take rocket science to know he had filled the glass just short of the brim with blood. midnight snack if you will. he felt you stir next to him, his curiosity piqued. “sha..ya’wake?” he mumbled, giving a soft nudge to you. feeling you nuzzle up to him in a sleepy haze. his body language even more careful. his typing halting.

he gave a kiss to your forehead. his fangs pressing gently against your head slightly. not enough to hurt, but enough to rouse you from sleep a little more. both of you still getting used to the whole fangs thing. they’d become a lot more permanent since recently. “remys sorry if he woke you. didn’t mean tah to dis.” he mumbled, soft kisses being pressed to your face, your neck. “gambit’ll keep da typing quiet, you wan’ go back tah sleep? cuddle in? stay up?”
