“Where were you again last night?” I asked, sliding into the chair across from him in the campus café.

Drew barely looked up from his laptop. “Studying. Like a normal, responsible human being.”

I raised an eyebrow. “At 2 a.m.? Because I texted you… like, a lot. You never respond.”

He let out a quiet laugh, closing his laptop a little too fast. “I lose track of time.” He al
