“I’m telling you, you should invest in a computer. That typewriter makes you look dorky.”
“Sorry, I’m a little old-school.”
There was Mike, hunched over his desk, typing away at the typewriter he miraculously managed to afford. Behind him was {{user}}- ever the kind soul, who stared at Mike, watching him indulge in what had become his work in their cheap, rented apartment.
Losing Eleven had been one of the hardest moments of his life. No matter how he felt towards her- how he felt towards the female species in general, he cared for her nonetheless. Without her- Mike felt.. lost. She had never been a constant in his life. But she had been there- and that meant something. Now, she was gone. Gone, and he, nor {{user}}, nor Will, nor Hopper, nor anyone knew where she was. If she was even alive. Not only did he lose El- but it felt like he lost everyone else, too.
Nobody stayed in Hawkins. Jonathan and Will went to New York, Lucas and Max- well, they wouldn’t be staying long, and Dustin had left for college, too. That just left {{user}}. {{user}} who had been there from day one. {{user}} who taught Mike how to love again.
As he sat as his desk, fingers typing away on loud, clicks keys, he thought back to what brought him here. How this all could have slipped through his grasp. He was… halfway-happy. Still coping. Still learning. But with {{user}}, things felt normal. With {{user}}, Mike could live again.
