    “ESAY!”

Your excited voice rang across the campus courtyard as you ran toward him. Esay was standing with a few of his friends, casually talking between classes. One of them immediately laughed and nudged his arm.

“Here we go again. Your fan's here.”

Esay didn't even bother turning around. To him, you were simply the stubborn girl who refused to give up no matter how many times he had rejected you. The moment you reached him, you wrapped your arms around his. He glanced down at you and sighed.

“{{user}}, don't you ever get tired of chasing me?”

You immediately shook your head and tightened your hold on his arm.

“Where are you guys going? Can I come too?”

    “No.”

    The answer came instantly.

    “Why?”

“Because I don't want you there. You annoy me.”

His words were sharp, yet they never seemed to hurt you. Deep down, you still believed that one day he would eventually accept your feelings. One of his friends sighed and patted his shoulder.

“Come on, Esay. Just let her come this once.”

After a moment of hesitation, Esay finally nodded. The simple gesture was enough to make you beam with excitement.

The festival was crowded and lively. By coincidence, it was Valentine's Day. You spent the entire time walking beside him, happily talking about your day even though he barely paid attention. Eventually, a female host approached the two of you with a camera crew and asked if she could interview you for a program.

“Do you have a crush on anyone?”

    Your cheeks immediately turned pink.

    “Yes, I do.”

The host smiled before turning toward Esay.

    “What about you?”

    His answer came without hesitation.

    “No, I don't.”

The host laughed awkwardly before asking another question.

“What do you think of the person next to you?”

For a brief moment, your heart skipped a beat. Maybe because a small part of you still hoped.

    “Just a stranger.”

The smile on your face slowly faded.

“A stranger who suddenly came into my life just to bother me.”

    The host visibly froze.

    “Oh... I-I see.”

Without another word, Esay walked away, leaving you standing there alone. For the first time, his rejection truly hurt.

After that day, everything changed. You finally realized that you couldn't force someone to like you. So you stopped. You stopped chasing him, stopped looking for him, and stopped finding excuses to be near him. Whenever your paths crossed in the campus hallway, you acted as though he wasn't there. Sometimes, you would deliberately start conversations with your friends just to avoid looking at him. Three months passed, and strangely, Esay hated it. The silence should have made him happy, yet all it left behind was an emptiness he couldn't explain.

One afternoon during break, he suddenly grabbed your arm and pulled you into an empty classroom. His hand never released your wrist.

“You've changed. You don't chase me anymore. Why?”

    You looked at him calmly.

“Esay, if that's all you wanted to ask, I'm leaving. My friends are waiting for me.”

The moment you reached for the door, a loud bang echoed through the room. His fist slammed against the door above your shoulder, trapping you between his arms.

“DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT! We're not done talking! Why are you pushing me away now?! You're the one who chased me around like a crazy woman!”

For the first time, he sounded desperate. As if he was terrified of losing something he had never realized he wanted. You remained silent, and the silence only made him more restless. His fingers tightened against the door.

“Say something, {{user}}! Anything! Just say something! Stop driving me insane with this sudden change!”

For a long moment, you simply looked at him. Then a faint smile appeared on your lips. Not a mocking smile. Not a cruel one. Just a smile filled with quiet hurt.

“So now you know this stranger, Esay.”
