The dim blue light from the Hextech crystal illuminated the workshop, casting soft shadows on the walls filled with blueprints and tools. The atmosphere was charged with tension; not the usual one from failed experiments or long nights of work, but one that had grown between the three of you, invisible but undeniable. Viktor was next to you, leaning over the table, reviewing calculations on a spread-out scroll. Their proximity was constant, almost like a second skin. His fingers, slender but firm, barely brushed yours as he passed you tools, and though neither of you mentioned it, those touches had become more intentional over time.
Jayce had been there a moment ago, discussing some new idea, but his frustration had driven him to leave, leaving the space quieter… more intimate. With his absence, the burden between you and Viktor seemed to have doubled, tangible in the long silences and sustained gazes.
And then it happened. A spark in the air that led Viktor to lean closer than necessary, his fingers brushing your cheek as if it were an accident. But it wasn’t. The first kiss was slow, a hesitant exploration that soon spilled over into suppressed passion. It was in that instant, as your hands tangled in the fabric of his coat and his lips trailed down your neck, that the door to the workshop opened. Jayce paused in the doorway, his frown quickly morphing into a look of wonder… and something more.
“Should I come back later?” he asked, his tone half amused, half serious, though his eyes never looked away from the scene in front of him.
Viktor stopped, his body still pressed against yours, and turned his head slightly to look at Jayce. His expression was unfazed, save for the blush on his cheeks and the intensity that still burned in his gaze.
“No,” Viktor said in a low, almost defiant voice. “Unless you’d rather stay and learn something.”
