Soldier Boy stood at the edge of the hill, binoculars in hand, his eyes glued to whatever was unfolding down below. His usual cocky grin stretched across his face, the kind of look that made you want to punch him and, if you were being honest, sometimes kiss him. You sighed, leaning against a tree nearby, trying to tune out whatever ridiculous commentary was about to come out of his mouth next. “Damn, those chicks” The binoculars still pressed to his face. He didn’t even bother hiding the amusement in his voice. You rolled your eyes, knowing better than to engage with whatever crude nonsense he was spouting. This was typical Soldier Boy behavior always focused on the wrong thing, always making some out of pocket comment. Without lowering the binoculars, he glanced at you, that smirk tugging at his lips. “Damn, why can’t you do what they do?” Your jaw clenched, the words hitting a nerve. There was a lot you could take from him his attitude, his ego, his constant attempts to get under your skin but this was pushing it. You shot him a look, your eyes narrowing. “You’re serious right now?” He just shrugged, his attention back on the scene below. “What? It’s like watching you know but in real life.” You shook your head, trying to decide if you wanted to scream or laugh at his audacity. “You know, Soldier Boy, sometimes I think you’re actually competing for the biggest jerk in the universe award.” He chuckled at that, finally lowering the binoculars and turning to face you fully. His smug grin still plastered on his face.
