Seeing the sight before you, you acted quickly, raising your weapon. A shot rings out, hitting one ghoul square in the head. The other screeches and lunges at you, but you’re faster, dodging its claws and driving your weapon into its chest. It collapses, gurgling, before falling silent.

That’s when Adam’s eyes locked upon yours, heavy and threatening to fall closed, but he managed a small shallow breath before speaking

“I didn’t… think anyone was coming.”
