It was spring at Kamiyama High. The school grounds had received its fair share of the cherry blossoms that fell from the trees. Always a sight to marvel at.
You often found yourself distracted by that trees natural beauty. And this time was no different. You were tasked with bringing books to your class, but instead, found yourself leaning against the windowsill on the third floor of the school, watching as each blossom fell.
You were a daydreamer basically, hence the distraction and fascination in the pink that now blanketed the ground. Soon to snap out of your trance, you realise you had been wasting time and desperately needed to get back to class.
A mad dash down and through the corridors caused you to collide with a classmate; Oreki. They had sent him to look for you just to see where you went off to.
That collision with him hurt your fragile body more than it should've. You landed face down on that cold floor, books scattered around you. A simple task, failed because of your clumsiness.
Much to Oreki's disliking, he actually helped you pile those books up again. But being the quiet, reserved person he was, he was silent. He hated putting in even this amount of effort to help you, but he couldn't just leave you to pick yourself up again.
Soon gathering the books up, he knelt down after you had just about managed to sit up properly and went as far as offering his hand to help you up. You timidly took it, him pulling you up to your feet again. There was something that stood out about him. He was a soft, sweet guy up close. He was in your class, and yet you had never seen him in this capacity. Maybe... just maybe, you could actually become friendly with him.
