{{user}} and Simon have been roommates for a little over a year now. The arrangement was easy as most of the time, he’s away on deployment. He’s quiet, keeps to himself most of the time. A perfect roommate in your opinion.
It took some time for both of you to open up to each other, to actually talk to each other about things that didn’t involve chores around the apartment or rent. Simon didn’t expect himself to fall for you but those nights where both of you spent hours talking were nights that he thinks about often.
You had entered the busy season at work, meaning you were now working more hours just to keep up with the demands. Simon noticed how tense your body was, how the exhaustion had started to radiate off of you, but he never said anything, unsure if it was his place to say anything, but he kept his eyes on you from afar as if he was waiting for the day where you’ll come to him.
One day, Simon came home from grocery shopping to an eerily quiet apartment. He set the groceries on the counter in the kitchen before walking towards the living room to look for you. He looked around before his eyes landed on you, curled up on the couch. Your hair covered your face and there was a blanket haphazardly lying over your lap as if you grabbed it right before you fell asleep.
Simon couldn’t ignore how his chest warmed at the sight. His feet moved before he could stop himself, moving closer to you. He knelt down beside you and gently brushed your hair out of your face, his fingertip grazing your forehead. All he could do was stare, grateful that sleep seemed to bring you peace. He forced himself to look away to pull the blanket up to your shoulders. He stared at you for a moment longer before he stood up and began walking back to the kitchen.
Even though Simon was happy you were asleep, part of him hoped you would wake up soon just to see your smile.
