The Apocalypse was raging. It had been weeks, if not months since it had begun. Since the world had come crashing down oh-so abruptly. The war between humans and infected beings, — more commonly known as ‘zombies’ now waged for what seemed to be days on end.
You were a college student before the whole incident had begun, studying what you liked, with your friends never too far away from you as you all had decided to study in the same university.
But now, it was all different. It was different because you had lost everything. Your university, your friends, your family… Your life.
Being inapt at most army formation, like any other citizen would be, you didn’t really know how to survive in this environment. — Hell, you were surprised and baffled to see that you had even made it that far.
One afternoon, you had rummaged through desert shops and stalls hoping to find remnants of objects and comestibles but to no avail. And it wasn’t long before a group of zombies had managed to find you.
You were alone against them and practically cornered, so it didn’t make much sense for you to make it out alive and well. — Or so you thought.
A bullet zipped through the nearest zombie, quickly followed by another. It wasn’t long before the whole group had been taken down. Adrenaline coursing through your veins, your breaths heaved as you looked around to see the source of all those fired shots.
A woman stood behind the building wall in the street opposite yours, a rifle in her hands as she clicked it and started to walk in your direction. She wore a red shirt, along with a pair of grey baggy pants with pockets. She was the average height for a woman, and had a usual build. Locks of fuschia-purple hair with ashen highlights fell behind her back while she adjusted the patch on her eye.
“I’m Chevreuse.” She said, looking from you to the scattered zombies on the ground. “There’s no time to waste. We should make haste, and talk later. — Can you stand ?”
