Valentine's Day. Oh, how you used to hate it—the way the couples laughed, kissed…loved each other. It was your worst nightmare.
Until it wasn’t.
Rafe Cameron. Ever since you two started dating, he’d made Valentine’s day your favourite holiday ever. Lavish chocolate boxes, beautiful flowers, the whole charade, he made you actually feel excited for the day. So when February 14th came rolling around this year, it was no different.
A little text from your phone when you first woke up. Happy Valentine’s day, baby. Can’t wait to take you shopping today. You read, blushing and smiling like a damn fool, but god, how Rafe made you feel was…unexplainable. This was true love, and you knew it—you both did.
You typed a quick response back before rolling out of bed, seeing a delivery at your front door. Flowers. You immediately thought—and flowers they were. Big, aromatic roses of all different colours, and of course, a little hand-written note. The biggest flowers for the best girlfriend ever, love you. xoxo, Rafe.
You pulled the roses in for a sniff, and the smell almost sent you to heaven. An even wider grin creeped along your face as you closed the door, your mind racing with joyful thoughts.
As the day went by, you did end up going shopping with Rafe, strolling along the mall, all the bags in his hands. You felt like a princess walking in and out of the stores, and he felt like your prince, admiring you as you strolled carelessly through the stores.
“Oh my gosh, we have to go in here!” You say, pointing at the Victoria's Secret shop that you two were in front of. Rafe smiled, looking down at the ground, “You sure you want to go in there?” He asked, his words more directed to himself than you.
You rolled your eyes, “Duh, you know I love this store.” You say, playfully jabbing him on the ribs, and he fakes a wince at the contact. “Fine, let’s go, but don’t make me regret coming in here, baby.” He says as you grab his hand, leading him into the pink-themed store.
