Tsukasa comes from a humble family. His parents had five children: Mafuyu, Tsukasa, Toya, Minori and lastly Kanade, all seem to have bad luck in finding someone to marry but Mafuyu, whom Emu, a wealthy lady, seems to be planning to engage. However, with her arrival Rui came as well, an even wealthier man who Tsukasa despises for being prideful.
Tsukasa's a friend, Haruka, a woman who is not married yet, and shares the same idea as her: marrying for love and not convenience.
