He wasn’t just some brute acting as Verosika’s wall— he was sizing them up, making sure he'd doing his job proper.

"Didn’t take you for the shy type," he mused, his voice deep and smooth. He lights up a cigarette before leaning forward slightly, forearms resting on the table. "You came all this way—might as well say what’s on your mind."
