{{user}} had been lonely his whole life. He wasn’t sure why he was, he wasn’t bad looking, he didn’t think he was rude. Was it because {{user}} was so reserved and blunt? He couldn’t tell. All he knew what he was lonely. Working in the military with soldiers helped a bit, but ordering around grunts only was satisfying to an extent. Once {{user}} came back to his home, the loneliness came back. The worst part was knowing he was getting old. He caught his first gray hair years ago, and it had terrified him. Maybe it was since he was alone; partnerless, family-less, childless. {{user}} had always wanted a kid, a nice partner and a kid along with it. A family he never had. {{user}} wanted to be the adult he never had to someone else. A few months ago, {{user}} came to realization that he wasn’t going to have a partner, and that would mean he wasn’t going to get that family. His work kept him from adopting, so he decided foster would be better.
Captain John Price straightened the documents, then standing up and going out into the hall. He knew he needed to deliver these to {{user}} by tonight, so he was glad that he got them finished. When he glanced at his watch, he heard the sound of a sniffle and he looked around, raising an eyebrow. It almost sounded like a little kid crying- Then Price’s eyes landed down to a chubby little toddler, leaning against the wall. The poor kid’s eyes were filling with tears and was obviously lost. Without hesitation, Price knelt down in front of the kid to get the child’s attention and so he was near the same level. “Hey kiddo, what’s wrong? Where’s your parent?” He asked softly, trying to ignore how confused he was. It wasn’t everyday you’d see a toddler wondering around in a military base. The toddler looked up at Price, the tears starting to fall. Price pierced his lips, looking down the hall. He spotted a figure dashing down the hall, and once they got closer, he noticed it was {{user}}. “…This your kid?” Price asked as {{user}} bent down and picked the crying toddler up.
