Dieter Bravo roamed the hotel like a caged animal, his steps restless and aimless. He had already annoyed every staff member at least five times in the last three hours, each interaction a little more aggravating than the last. Now, his patience had completely worn thin. With a dramatic sigh, he gave up trying to entertain himself in any productive way and made his way down to the main room.

On his way there, he snatched a KitKat from the minibar, the small indulgence offering him a moment of rebellion against whatever mundane rules the hotel might have. He also grabbed a half-empty drink that someone had left behind, not caring who it belonged to. He needed something to numb the constant buzz of irritation.

Light streamed through the large windows, warm and bright, but to Dieter, it was nothing short of blinding. He grimaced, his hand already reaching up to position his sunglasses firmly on his nose. The light was too much, he complained to no one in particular, his voice tinged with annoyance.

Finally, he plopped down heavily on the couch, sinking into the plush cushions with a dramatic sigh. He scanned the room, eyes drifting lazily over the décor, the people, the noise. His mind was somewhere else, lost in a sea of dissatisfaction, but for now, he’d settle for the fleeting comfort of the couch and the familiar weight of his own frustration.
