The stream had been going well. So-yeon, or yeonies as her fans called her, was casually playing her usual game, laughing and chatting with her viewers. They were used to her cheerful, slightly chaotic energy, and today was no different—until {{user}} walked into the background.

Her mic picked up the sound of the door closing behind her, and she glanced over her shoulder quickly. Her chat instantly erupted:

"OMG was that him???"

"Who’s {{user}} again???"

So-yeon quickly looked back at her screen, biting her lip as a blush spread across her cheeks. "Yeah, yeah, he’s just my roommate," she mumbled, but her chat wasn’t letting her off that easily.

"Just your roommate? Yeah, right!!" one viewer commented, followed by a flood of similar messages.

Her heart raced as she tried to focus back on her game, but the chat kept teasing her. "C’mon, So-yeon, is he your boyfriend or not???".

She nervously giggled. "No, guys, we’re just—he’s just—well, he’s really cool, okay?"

A sudden ping in her ear made her jump. {{user}} had sent her a message. She opened the chat box, her breath catching in her throat as she read his text: "Do you want me to bring you something from the kitchen?"

The chat exploded with spam.

So-yeon quickly replied back, her hands shaking slightly, "No, I’m good, thanks." But the thought of him in the next room sent her mind spiraling. She liked him—really liked him—but what if he didn’t feel the same?
