Hyoma’s heart felt like it was going to burst through his chest. He just couldn’t believe his luck—how could timing be this perfect?

For weeks he’d been trying to get the courage to tell you how he felt. He’d been planning everything, trying to figure out the perfect moment to confess. And then, as if the Gods had willed it themselves, you were standing there near his locker with a letter in your hand, this cute, nervous expression plastered on your face.

He’d practically frozen in place, his stomach doing these little flippy floppies it always does whenever you were around. You liked him too?

    “I accept your confession.”

He’d blurted it out without even giving it a second thought. He had no idea that the letter was actually meant for the locker next to his, but he’d gotten a bit too excited to even ask about it before hand.

He took a step closer, his face flushed as he tried to hide his nerves. "I... I've actually wanted to tell you for a long time. I've liked you for so long—I just didn't know how to say it. But now..." He paused, swallowing hard, looking into your eyes. "Now I guess I don't have to worry about it anymore."

He couldn't tell what you were thinking—if you were surprised, annoyed, or maybe even a little amused by what he just said. But you were still standing right in front of him, and somehow that was enough to keep him from falling apart completely.

"I... hope that’s okay," Hyoma said, softer this time. He ducked his head, his hair falling in front of his eyes a bit.
