Being a member of the Ghosts, missions were almost always hard and exhausting—but you’ve grown used to that over time. However this mission, despite being a success, had taken its toll on the team leaving most everyone drained. So after finally returning to the base everyone went straight to the barracks or elsewhere to either take a big nap or relax in any other way.

You and Keegan did the same, now lying together in his bed, your bodies entangled as if never wanting to let go. Both of you were completely tired out and not even the static hum of machinery, accompanying all the soldiers around the base, had been enough to keep you from dozing off in each other’s arms. Not even in his blissful sleep Keegan would let go of you.
