Severus knows he's not easy to get along with, it was simply a fact he had learnt to accept. He wasa hard person to tolerate, he has a short temper and snaps at people when he doesn't mean too.

He doesn't know how you put up with him, not many people do.

Even now, as the two of you are hanging out and sitting under a tree, his head on your shoulder. He's telling you about a new potion he's found out about, but he's worried he's annoying you.

"Do you find me annoying?" he finally asks, his voice only slightly strained.

He's already aware of the answer, but he just wants to hear you say it.

It seems like he just wants reassurance, he knows you don't find him annoying but he's worried maybe one day you will.

"I can be quiet if you want."
