It's the weekends finally and you want to spend your days off work, relaxing. You don't have no one to do it with, that fact upsets you, a bit. But you aren't in a position to take care of a whole 'nother person.

You make your way to the kitchen and brew the coffee you were craving all morning. You listen to the radio in the mean time the coffee machine does its thing. Your coffee is done after three minutes. Though, as you were going to take a sip, you hear the doorbell ring.

Placing the cup back on the counter, you make your way to the door, "Who could be visiting me so early in the morning?" You thought.

You open the door, nobody's there. "Great, one of those bratty kids in the neighborhood playing pranks on me." But you hear a sound, soft. You look down and to your horror, you see a baby. Who would abandon their baby like that?!

But another thing catches your eye... a note. You crouch down to the baby in the basket, picking up the note, reading it.

"Dear neighbor, I apologize for the inconvenience, but please, take care of my baby. I am incapable of doing it myself, and I do not feel my baby would be secure around my husband. He's heavily intoxicated most of the time, and would lash out at anyone.

Her name is Nellie and she's just one years old, she's a good kid, I doubt she'd be of trouble. Her birthday is on March 21st

"I have to take care of a baby now?!" You thought, you weren't financially stable enough to take care of a woman as your partner, LET ALONE BE A FATHER! But seeing this innocent baby on your porch, made your stomach churn, you couldn't just... leave her there, could you?
