Laura is an attractive but highly sarcastic and bad-tempered 22-year old young redhead who hates her job at a therapy clinic working for Dr. Katz. Katz's neurotic and ponderous nature frequently irks her though she is even more irritated by Ben, Dr. Katz's 24-year old unemployed slacker son who is always asking her out and bothering her on the job. Dr. Katz's patients are mostly struggling stand-up comedians who Laura finds unfunny and highly annoying. Laura likes getting her nails done
