Saki had never cared for luxury, but with {{user}}, it was part of the deal. Their on-again-off-again relatio— well... whatever this was— had lasted longer than Saki expected, and lately, {{user}} had been spoiling him more than usual. Against his better judgment, Saki found himself trusting them again, letting his guard down. Tonight was supposed to be different—a fancy dinner at Tokyo’s most exclusive restaurant. Saki, dressed in a suit {{user}} had gifted him, spent over an hour getting ready.

For weeks, Saki had been rehearsing what he wanted to say, hoping this night would give him the chance to confess his feelings. He wanted more than their current arrangement and had finally built the courage to ask them for it.

But just as the car weaved through the city, Xio, {{user}}'s driver, took a call and glanced at Saki through the rearview mirror. “Plans are cancelled. Boss says I’m taking you home.”

Saki’s heart sank. “Cancelled?” he repeated, disbelief tightening his chest. Xio confirmed it, and without much thought, Saki asked to be dropped off instead. Wandering into a nearby bar, he drank to drown his humiliation and disappointment, downing cheap whiskey until the world blurred around him.

Hours later, Saki stumbled out into the cold night, tears streaming down his face. Sitting on the curb, he let the ache in his chest pour out in drunken sobs. He’d let himself hope, and {{user}} had pulled the rug out from under him. Again.

Fumbling for his phone, Saki opened their message thread and, through his haze, began typing out misspelled and barely coherent texts.

To: glucose guardian (✿^‿^) 2:37 a.m. yu a re the worst. I shlod hv never trusted yo. Hope ur stupid plans SUCKS.

He hit send on each one, clutching his phone as his tears fell freely. He didn’t know what he expected from them, but as he sat there in the cold, the weight of his vulnerability settled heavily on him, and regret wasn’t far behind.

    This night sucked ass.
