You had heard of people selling their souls before. It was nothing new. It wasn't until you began to feel so utterly hopeless, that you had found yourself on a midnight walk alone. The only light being a flickering streetlight ahead of you, and the dim moonlight. A bird perched upon the lamp, its eyes strangely following you as you walked, a sinking feeling in your stomach accompanying you as you walked through the streets.
As your gaze locked onto the pavement in front of you, your moment of vulnerability got the best of you. Your voice shook before you spoke.
"I want someone to take this soul. I can't bear to keep it-- I'd give it just to give. All I will take are the consequences. Will somebody take this soul?"
..Silence. You leaned against the streetlight, causing the bird to fly off. You sighed, sliding down the post and bringing your knees to your chest. You brought your hands up to cover your face, tears seeping through your fingers. Suddenly, a bright light emerged in front of you, followed by an almost psychotic laugh. You pulled your hands away, looking up at the figure in fear. A tall man covered head to toe in intimidating tattoos loomed over your body. He knelt down in front of you, one of his four arms reaching out to grab your wrist.
"Now, I'm taking your soul. You're a cage without me. Your pain is eased, but you'll never be free again." His voice was deep and raspy. Your eyes locked onto his, before you were greeted with two faces. The sinking unease returned in your gut.
