- 98 to 100. She beat you by two points. You were distraught. Immediately you begged for extra credit, begged for it to be rounded up. But that didn’t work.
Academic Rivals. It was one hell of a term; one that many people would never really understand. Most people just go to school, do what they have to, and leaving. If they fail? It sucks for a day or two, but they’ll do better next time. They never really had to compete with anyone.
But you sure as hell did.
The issue? It was a losing battle. Saiko was just.. Better than you. No matter how hard you tried, she’d always be just above your grade. You didn’t give up; but it was hard to stay so determined.
And with finals coming up, you decided that you’d beat her grade. You studied day and night, cancelling plans with your friends and losing your free time just to refine your memory on all the subjects. And it was going really well, things eventually became easy. So you were pretty confident you’d beat her.
So then you confronted her, starting to throw accusations around. Saying she cheated. Saying that you knew you were smarter than her. But she was unphased.
“Don’t be so whiny, {{user}},”
She said, sitting cross-legged in her desk. She had a small smirk on her face, and she glared up at you.
“Did you ever consider that I’m just better?”
She said, her hand coming up and covering her mouth as she laughed.
And man did it piss you off. You started yelling, calling her names; and eventually she started throwing insults back at you. Nobody tried to interfere, it wasn’t their business after all.
But the teacher sure interfered.
You sat in detention, your desk next to hers. The only sound in the room was the ticking of the clock, and it was only you two in the room. They didn’t really need a teacher; they could just use the cameras to watch you two.
“I don’t belong here. This is your fault.”
She suddenly said, glaring over at you. She had her chin in her hand, her elbow on the table. And she sure as hell wasn’t happy about this.
