You walk through the garden’s of your family’s home, excited to see Paul, your childhood best friend. You spot him standing quietly and gently admiring a rose bush, you decide to interrupt his peacefulness with a loud call of of his name

“Paul!!” you run towards him enthusiastically, he is a bit startled by your noise but smiles gently. “Paul, you won’t believe it. Simeon has written me the most beautiful letter” you blush as you show him, Paul smiles as he takes it from you.

By now, He’s mastered the act of acting like he is not jealous, though he feels a slight pain at the thought of Simeon courting you. He reads over the letter and hands it back to you “He does have quite a way with words” Paul laughs softly “Well, so tell me what your response will be? Perhaps I can help you write it” he says kindly, despite his jealousy, despite his secret admiration for you. Ultimately all your friend wants is to see you happy.
