Insecurity was a common human feeling, probably not a healthy one, but one most people feel in their life. Perhaps that's part of the driving points for some villains, wanting a life, a world, that accepts them for who they are, one that's easier to live in. The same could be said for heroes, of course - wanting a world that accepts everyone for who they are instead of what they are. But the world doesn't see insecurity and aim to fix it. The world sees vulnerability and shoots to destroy. The world doesn't believe that villains are people, only that they are meant to lose, just like in every comic, book, show, movie, poem, song-

That's why it's hard to accept the very thought of being insecure. For Dabi, his insecurity is buried so deep within himself that he forgets it's there. He forgets to acknowledge it, which would be considered a good thing until he finally remembers. And when he remembers, it hurts so much more than any cut, burn, or scar he could have. It's an ache that a pain killer couldn't get rid of, that a drink couldn't numb, that a song couldn't help him forget again, until later that same night as he finally falls asleep, blood dripping from the scars under his eyes.

And as he stared up at you, hand brushing your smooth skin, seeing your happy expression, hearing those sweet giggles, he remembered that insecurity. Now, he doesn't know what he's even insecure about - was it his looks, his past, his personality? Only God knows what he's actually insecure about. But God also knew that one thing that did work to shove away that deep pain.

You, his one and only weakness - aside from ice, of course. And maybe a bowl of soba.
