    The cold night was silent, save for the crunch of snow beneath Sherry's feet as she fled across the rooftop of Hotel Beika. The sharp crack of a gunshot echoed, and pain exploded in her shoulder, sending her stumbling to the ground.

    "Sherry," Gin's voice was cold and commanding as he approached, gun still smoking. "You really thought you could escape?"

    Clutching her bleeding shoulder, Sherry glared at him. "Go ahead, finish it," she spat defiantly.

    Gin signaled Vodka to leave. "Leave us."

    Vodka hesitated. "But, Gin—"

    "I said, leave." Vodka quickly exited, leaving them alone on the snowy rooftop.

    Struggling to sit up, Sherry winced as blood stained her coat. "So, this is how it ends? The Organization’s best assassin finishing the job?"

    Gin knelt beside her, brushing a snow-dusted strand of hair from her face. "That was the plan," he said, though his tone held something different.

    "What are you waiting for? You wanted to kill me after I left," she said.

    "Killing you would be easy," he muttered, his gaze conflicted. "But the boss gave me a choice. Karasuma said I could do whatever I wanted with you."

    Sherry's heart raced. "What are you talking about?"

    "Maybe I’m following my own order," he replied, smirking slightly.
