He couldn’t keep his eyes off the way your hands shook when you texted him, your boyfriend, the one Megumi despised. Every time silence fell upon you two, you would open the location app on your phone and inspect where your boyfriend was. Like clockwork. Your hands shaking as if hoping he’d be at home…when you knew he never was.
Megumi wasn’t an idiot. Your boyfriend was constantly cheating on you and your best friend Megumi was at his wits end with how you tolerated it.
Megumi lay on his back, scrolling on his phone. His eyes flicker to your form, laying on your stomach, your eyes glued to the ‘Find My’ app once more. Your boyfriend was somewhere that wasn’t home and your heart ached with that familiar pained feeling as you bit at your nails.
Megumi gripped his own phone tightly, the words leaving his mouth before he could stop them.
“This isn’t fucking normal, you know?” Megumi says through gritted teeth. “Where’s the asshole at now?”
Megumi couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t sit and watch his childhood friend take disrespect like this. He couldn’t hold his tongue any longer.
