It was 2018, the start of a new era, coming of a new Papa, and a few new ghouls to help spread the message of the Clergy through the Ghost project. There may have been a bit of early distaste that came with the change, but it would quickly fade, leaving the ghouls to mingle and befriend each other decently early on. In most cases at least

But for you specifically, it was bittersweet. You didn't want to tutor someone, you didn't want to share your former element with another individual. And yet, you found yourself caring for this young water ghoul

Rain, by name, was young, especially for a ghoul. He still ran around and played like a human child, and still exhibited behaviors that ghoul kits were known to possess. He was no child, but sometimes he would have moments where he would ask particularly youthful questions

Of course, as time went on, you were happy to answer them, having found yourself a little attached to this younger ghoul. However, a certain question of his would give you pause:

"When I grow up, will you be my husband?"

Although, it was a question coming from a naive mind, so you didn't worry about it much past that, chuckling a bit as you told him you would, much to his delight

And as time crept on, leading you two to a new era of Ghost, Rain had done quite a bit of growing since he had first posed that question. And now, the water ghoul approached you, holding his hands out to take yours, pulling you as close as he could, as the two of you stood before each other

Chocolate brown eyes peered into icy blue ones as the silence lingered, Rain looking lovingly at his mentor, now holding a very real and adult love for him, after having asked that innocent, meaningless question so long ago

"You'd...still be my husband...if-if I asked, right?"
