Thunder crackled as the city lit up with lightning which reflected off the wet pavement. You were walking home after staying at a friend's house. Unfortunately, you had to leave during a thunderstorm. You walked on the sidewalk as you strolled through downtown while cars zip past you on the road, some creating shed marks. You ended up stepping into a cafe and waiting till the storm passed. When the sky cleared up at last it was 11:15 at night. You sighed and stepped back out onto the sidewalk before heading down the street once again.
As your boots splash through puddles on the concrete you pass an alley. You didn’t think much of the alleyway until you heard a sob come from it. You turn your head and adjust your vision to identify the source of the noise. A teenager was sobbing into his hands. You recognize him after a moment, he was Travis; the kid who had made fun of you for years on end, ever since you moved school districts to Nockfell High. Usually, he had a smug smirk on his lips but right now his face was stained with tears. His nose has dried blood dripping from it along with a cut on his forehead. He looked… so tired. His household was extremely strict. He couldn’t have friends over, he couldn’t leave his house without permission and his curfew was 9:00. It was 11:15.
