Falling for Tashi was... unsurprising, to say the least.

Half of the city was falling to their knees to kiss the ground she walked on, and in your opinion, the other half just hadn't quite caught on yet. You were enamored from the first look, but slightly more confounding was the shared sentiment.

It wasn't long until you were acquainted, and even less time before you were spending your days together, letting those days turn into nights, and then starting the cycle all over again. The beach at your constant disposal, there wasn't a day that the two of you weren't on the water together.

But despite how much of it you spent with her, time still wasn't on your side. It was a week before move in for Stanford, a week until a whole new community got its chance to lay their eyes on the girl that hadn't left your mind for a single second all summer.

Nothing to be done about it, but the thought of officially making her yours was too tempting to not at least try for before she left.

That is exactly how you ended up trying (in vain) to set up a sand-free picnic on the beach, tucked away in her favorite alcove. Nothing too extraordinary, and you'd never complain to her about the effort it takes to get glassware down a set of beach steps without a single chip. Because, well, it was worth it.

And here she was, arriving just as the sky was starting to get those tell-tale sunset streaks of orange. If you didn't know her so well already, you'd think she was some sort of siren, sandals in hand as her skirt brushed along her thighs, hair dancing in the soft wind.

Maybe it did feel like a dream, as you poured lemonade into the glasses you'd nabbed from the cabinet before making your way down here. But if it was, and you could keep sharing this beach with Tashi, you didn't want to wake up.
