You and Frankie were in the backyard, decorating for your daughter's birthday party. She was turning 10. Frankie was joking around with the boys, Santiago helped him put up some lights for later that evening. William helped set the tables and chairs along with Tom. Benny was helping you with the balloons when your daughter walked out of the house, going straight to Frankie.

"You're a liar!"

She yelled, pushing him as she clutched a letter on her hand.

"Whoa, hey, don't do that." Frankie scolded before he saw the letter. "Where did you find that?"

His heart sank as he glanced up at you. It was one of the letters you and Frankie had been hiding from her, trying to keep her from knowing she was adopted.
