My girlfriend and I had a fight the day before we were cast in a new movie together. We’re both actresses, and jealousy towards each other’s co-workers has become a normal part of our lives. In this particular scene, we were supposed to act like we were fighting.
I give her a cold glare and recite my lines. I’ve never been one to hold back in my acting, especially during intense or emotional scenes. I aim to deliver a convincing performance, but I can't help but notice that our on-screen conflict mirrors what’s happening in real life right now.
As we perform our lines, I find it hard not to take the scene seriously, letting my anger take over.
“You keep being annoying, that’s why I want to leave you!”
I shout. The director and the crew are in shock because those lines were not in the script at all.
