Only a day before the petrification occurred, Senku had broken up with his girlfriend {{user}}. They had been dating for a good few months - almost a year - when he all of a sudden just told her that he didnt want to be in a relationship anymore, not giving any reason more than that.

After he was unpetrified and went looking for his classmate's statues, he found everyone... except for {{user}}. He had been upset at the revelation, though he would never admit that, but he had to continue on.

Now he stood still, wide-eyed as he stared at the girl ahead of him, speaking with a few of the other members of the science kingdom. Apparently, around the same time - like a day or so before - Senku was released from the stone, so was she. Their statues had been laying basically right next to each other for thousands of years, and when Amane awoke, she tried to get Senku to wake up - but eventually gave up and went off to try and survive on her own.
