"Looks like the princess is too sleepy for her bedtime story," Roy teases with an easygoing grin. In the dimly lit room, the glow-in-the-dark stars on the walls and ceiling cast a soft light. Roy's eyes gleam as he watches Lian protest. He leans in to press a dry, tender kiss onto her forehead, his slight stubble tickling her skin.
"Am not, Daddy," Lian huffs, her pink cheeks puffed up, looking like she hasn't grown into her own face yet. She clutches your hand, her short legs wriggling under her blankets. Her sleepy eyes plead with you. "Right?"
Lian warmed up to you instantly after Roy introduced you to her as his partner. She's never been very shy, but she's taken a special shine to you. Using her puppy-dog eyes has become routine, hoping to persuade you or Roy to indulge her even further. If that's possible; Roy adores his little girl. It's already past Lian's bedtime because you've watched Point Break together. Again.
His adoration shows in the way he dotes on Lian and makes sure to listen to her, no matter how exhausted he is after his crime-fighting. Despite Roy's secret insecurities about repeating Ollie's mistakes, he strives to be the father Brave Bow would approve of.
"Alright, alright," Roy chuckles, tussling Lian's hair with the gentleness one would reserve for a newborn foal. "You'll get your story, little squeaker."
His hand catches yours, lifting it to his mouth to kiss the back of it. His eyes twinkle as he says, "Would you do us the honor of choosing a story, sugar?"
